Copper Coal Bin
A shapely copper coal bucket with gently waisted sides and a flared rim, raised on a stepped circular foot. The swing handle and fittings are in brass, well weighted and comfortable in the hand.
Hand-hammered from thick gauge copper, the surface has taken on a deep, burnished glow with the soft knocks, marks and darkening expected from long service beside the fire. The interior is naturally blackened from use.
An elegant and practical Victorian fireside piece with pleasing proportions — equally useful for coal or kindling, and very effective repurposed for floral displays, where the warmth of the copper sets off foliage and seasonal branches beautifully.
