A fabulous and inspired Italian Venetian Murano glass “Primavera” mirror c.1860
The oval mirror is housed in a hand-carved wooden gesso and silver-gilded frame, the surface of which is adorned with transparent and green glass leaves, embellished with abundant coloured hand-blown flowers of varying sizes. There are tiny green and milky glass beans accenting the edges. Named ‘Primavera’ as in Italian for Spring. The mirror is an encrusted, effervescent arrangement celebrating the joys of the season!
With many old repairs and a number of losses, non of which take away from the enchanting beauty of this highly original piece of Murano craftmanship.
