Monolithic Terracotta Rams Head and Winged Maiden Urn
By far the largest terracotta urn we have had to date!
This exceptional and striking piece was created in the late 20th Century. It’s bold, statement-scale is on another level!
The urn is decorated by curves and gadroons. The neck of the socle has overlapping laurel leaves and berries. Its gadrooned body has acanthus leaf embellishments, the handles are dramatic rams heads. Floral interlinking swags abundantly drape across the centre of the urn, flanking a winged maiden with a crown of flowers. The rim of the urn is finished with egg-and-dart ovolo details.
This opulent urn would make an incredible centrepiece in your formal garden, and would also take a very large tree or shrub.
