Primitive Organically Formed Root Bench
A striking organically formed wooden Root Bench. Mid 20th Century.
The primitively designed benches seat and back is carved from a single piece of teak, with great burrs and knots throughout the ancient root’s timber. The shape is geometric and graphic, dramatically and naturally shaped by the elements.
Underneath the craftsman has attached four naively cut legs to repurpose this beautiful piece of wood.
The surface is sun-bleached and worn to a silky pale silvered patination.
