Set of Three Rams Head Urns with Swags
A set of three lidded stone composite urns with Rams heads and floral swags. Late 20th Century.
Taken from a 19th Century French model, the urns demonstrate strong classical design which harks back to a period of influence that inspired Italian and French gardens of the Baroque and the Renaissance, with design references originating from the classical antiquity of the Romans and Greeks.
The bulbous shaped urn bears three Rams head masks linked by abundant festoons of fruits and flowers, with the lid of the urns being topped with pineapple finials.
Sharply cast with a delicate smattering of lichen, these pieces would blend seamlessly into your antique garden. Also making wonderful wall finials in a grander scheme.
